About the Event
Mingle: When you arrive, use this opportunity to break the ice to meet with others participants, exchange ideas and discuss how to use the information on the City of Winnipeg open data portal. This will give you a head start for the brainstorming session!
Brainstorming, pitching and distillation of ideas: As a group, participants will discuss and pitch their ideas with a brief description and what skills are needed for the project. After all ideas are submitted, ideas with the most traction will selected and participants will break into small teams and begin hacking!
Start Hacking: Teams will have up to six hours to work on their projects (dinner will be provided at 6pm, teams can work through break if they wish). There will be subject matter experts available to help teams if they get stuck.
Show & Tell and Awards: Here’s your chance to shine and be rewarded for your efforts! Participants will be asked to stop developing and present their work. After the awards, all participants are invited to stay, mingle and celebrate their successes!
