This Week marks the Fourth Annual Bike Week Winnipeg (June 17-23), and the 10th anniversary of Bike to work day. Bike Week is a week long celebration of people riding bicycles. Whether you ride for recreation, fitness, transportation, sport, or just for fun, if you enjoying riding a bike, then Bike Week is for you!
To navigate around active transpiration corridors there’s a number of options for maps available!
There’s the official printed 2014 map available on the City’s website:
Both Google and openstreetmap have bike routes set up to follow in your favorite mapping app or website (http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=12/49.8866/-97.1403&layers=C)
Bonus points if you want to edit more routes on openstreetmap!
The City of Winnipeg recently released a their active transportation data on their open data portal. It’s available in a number for formats to load into whichever flavor of GIS you prefer.
